Wunderlich Intermediate School (WIS) is located in northwest Houston, Texas and serves over 1500 students. The Wunderlich band is under the direction of Tommy Patterson, Kelly Connell, and Carlos Arguello. After middle school, students go on to Klein Forest High School.
Approximately 25% of WIS’s diverse student body is involved in the band program. Students at WIS start their band experience in 6th grade in homogeneous beginner band class. Students in seventh and eighth grade are divided into ability-based performing bands. The Wunderlich Symphonic and Concert Bands enjoy performing several concerts within the community throughout the year and consistently receive superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sightreading and various state festivals. The first division Wunderlich Jazz Band is a nationally recognized ensemble that provides additional performance experiences for students.
